As Pantone have announced their Colour of the Year for 2020 as 'Classic Blue,' we're sharing our thoughts and appreciation for the blues in our own Life Kitchens colour palette.
Earlier in the year, Dulux and Graham & Brown both announced their 'Colour of the Year' to be shades of green, and now Pantone have announced their choice as a deep blue- It seems that colours eluding to the calm of nature are those set to be big in 2020.
'Classic Blue' is a shade instilling calm, confidence, and connection and holds a timeless elegance. Pantone compare it to the sky at dusk, stating that it "brings a sense of peace and tranquillity to the human spirit, offering refuge."
From pastel shades, to deep, sophisticated hues, the Life Kitchens colour palette includes a selection of beautiful blue tones. So, if you're looking to incorporate the colour of 2020 into your kitchen design, why not check out our range of shades and how we have used them in kitchen designs for a dose of inspiration?
For a shade with the same depth as Classic Blue, we would recommend any of our richer shades, with Hartforth Blue our best match, but Storm Blue and Charcoal also offering a sophisticated option.
As shown below in our Grafton range, a decadent, characterful space can be created by combining a Hartforth Blue kitchen with a wrap-around colour.
For an elegant, warming tone, Storm Blue is the perfect choice for a family kitchen as demonstrated in this classic shaker design.
The darkest of our blue collection, Charcoal is the perfect statement shade for a two or three-colour kitchen, oozing timeless sophistication.
If you're looking to take a lighter spin on Colour of the Year, we have a range of pale/pastel shades that can bring a breath of fresh air to your kitchen design. As shown above, Cadet is a beautiful pastel blue that pairs perfectly with lighter tones, worksurfaces and accessories to create a refined look.
