In a design that has everything whilst feeling understated and effortless all at once, this contemporary yet characterful kitchen brings the Selig family closer together in their modern, Victorian home.

Following a recent extension, they wanted an open-plan space which was designed for cooking, gathering the family and entertaining - all with plenty of character and personality too. A large island at the centre of their new Life kitchen was key to achieving this. It provides generous space for the whole family to perch, whilst being fully functional with a hob, plenty of preparation space, and smart storage all the way round for all their pots and pans. It blends seamlessly into an integrated bar area for times when the kitchen calls for a social occasion, whilst feeling perfectly at home alongside a dining table, corner sofa and media unit.

Their previous kitchen lacked character. In contrast, a fusion of Graphite and Dry Rose helped them inject interest and wow factor into their new space!  Balancing the bold colours, crisp, clean lines keep everything sleek and sophisticated, alongside contemporary slab doors set within delicate framing, bringing a touch of traditional refinement. Warmth and excitement radiate through the unique mix of texture and materials here, rather than through elaborate decoration. The neutral quartz worksurfaces beautifully contrast the timber accents and heavily textured island doors, while the metal accents add a subtle nod to modern, industrial design. 

The real personality, however, comes from their own treasures displayed in their new exposed shelving, integrated bookcase, and stunning bar area. But despite the personality oozing from this design, true practicality lies at its core; the integrated appliances, smart storage behind every door and drawer, floor to ceiling cabinetry, and a double timber pantry for all the children's cereal!

It’s a space that embraces modern, sociable living, with room to grow and evolve as the family does.
